Updated 3 September 2010.
I continue to add and raise future breeders for my jungle carpet Python project and am producing killer specimens now from the best pairings of the best bloodlines and will make even better babies in the coming years. Here are some of my up and coming breeders:

Female above from the best of line-bred Hare stock

Female From Kid Toronto X Hello Yellow.

Male From Line-Bred Hare Stock.
now that the heat has arrived snakes like the Timber Rattlesnake below are clearly on the move.

This is a busy time for snake sales. It seems that many of my snakes are sold before I can even post them on my site. Those that I do post Pics of are often sold before anyone with an interest has the chance to see them. For this reason I am keeping this update short on pictures because snake sales are so brisk. If you have an interest in my snakes please take the time to look over my available and collection pages. I suggest you check back often. E-mail me with any questions.

Seeing this snake's head poking out of an egg gave me quite a shock last week. This Paradox Albino Ball Python is a boy. I am excited to learn that I have a line of albino balls that can produce this rare morph!

The research that Phil Peak and I are conducting is going well and many nice finds, like this gravid western mud snake, are making 2010 a banner year!
Baby Snakes Are Hatching!!

A Clutch of genetic striped jaguar carpet pythons hatched on 21 June 2010.
Albino Ball Python clutches are beginning to hatch!

This clutch of banded high contrast albino Tiger Ball pythons hatched on 2 july 2010.

Above Clutch hatched 26 June 2010.
Below Clutch hatched 24 June 2010.

This Clutch of banded albino ball pythons hatched 9 June 2010 and are now feeding on rat pups.

The Jungle Carpet Python Clutch laid 14 April hatched on 10 June and is pictured above. 21 babies and a 100% hatch rate make this first time female look like a true champion!
The Jungle Carpet Python clutch laid on 9 April has also hatched. I am considering keeping all of the babies back for one year. They are incredible.

My Second Clutch of womas from my smaller female that laid on 8 April has hatched!

My first 2010 clutch of 14 womas pictured above!

These 14 baby boas have shed and taken their fifth meals. The males are available for $50 each plus shipping. Quantity discounts available.

On 27 May my first woma clutch began to pip and hatch. Photos of my breeder womas can be seen on this page if you scroll down and also in my woma collection pages.

My Sorong Green tree python clutch hatched on 22 May.

Here is A Clutch of New Guinea Carpets(aka Irian Jaya Carpets)

The Citrus Tiger Carpet python Clutch has also hatched. It is hard to believe that these will look like the snake below in 2 years!
The I/J Carpets and Citrus Tiger Carpet Pythons will be posted for sale in about 4 weeks. I do not maintain waiting lists. If you want to buy a snake just e-mail me.
2010 looks GREAT for Jungle Carpet Pythons, Womas, and albino ball pythons!

This albino Tiger Ball Python possible het snow was bred by a male albino tiger possible het snow and laid 9 eggs on 24 April 2010. Her daughter is about to lay her first clutch sired by the same male any day now. In addition to these clutches there are three more albino x het albino clutches that have already been laid and more could come!

Here is yet another Jungle Carpet Python clutch that was laid 20 April 2010. This clutch was sired by the same male as the one laid on 9 april 2010 pictured two clutches below. This was a first clutch for this female and only ten eggs were fertile. I sure hope that they all hatch. Many will be held back.

This Classic Jungle Carpet Python from Python Pete lines laid 21 eggs on 14 April!

Here she is pictured on her clutch next to the Sire...Python Pete Line Sire #7.

the dam from above clutch prior to laying eggs looking great like so many from this line. Babies from this clutch will have the banded pattern with black and gold colors.

I discovered this on 9 April 2010 and am VERY excited. A photo of the Sire hatched by Andrew Hare is below:
In addition to being a very nice and FUNKY pair of snakes, check out what the female looked like as a baby:
There are 14 eggs in this clutch and I will be holding some of them back. I look for these to hatch late in the first week of June. The babies will be crazy looking for sure!

This 100% het albino female ball python laid her 7 egg clutch on 9 April 2010 as well. The Albino Ball Python Sire is pictured below:

Pictured above is my smaller female woma depositing her first clutch of ten eggs on 8 April 2010. I now have 25 Woma eggs incubating and all of them are looking perfect so far! The sire of both woma clutches is pictured below:
My Sorong Female Green Tree Python Laid 14 fertile eggs on 28 March 2010.

My largest female woma laid 15 fertile eggs on 28 March 2010. I have since split these eggs up into seperate boxes.

The 2010 Snake Hunting season has started off with a real BANG! While common throughout much of the Southeast, this scarlet kingsnake is considered a qualityfind here in Kentucky.

Above is my smaller Woma prior to laying ten eggs. This will be my first season attempting to hatch this species but I have had lots of help from other breeders and am looking forward to success.

I once again paired the snake above with my HCQ Tiger and am looking forward to my third clutch of Citrus Tigers. I took the photo above on 15 March just as she laid her last egg and coiled the clutch. Below is an example of how the babies from this pairing turn out after two years:

I have also decided to offer this breeder male GQ line Irian Jaya Carpet Python for sale because I recently acquired a new breeder male. The snake above is $300.00 including shipping.
Now is also a great time to inquire about colubrid snakes. I have over 50 available including Calico Rats, Lemon Rats, and the ones pictured below:
This female albino Black Rat Snake is 100% het for white sides. I have another one just like her. They are $60.00 each plus shipping. They are perfect matches for this male:

This is male albino white side black rat snake #942. He is $100.00 plus shipping. If you pair him with the females above they can be discounted to $50.00 each. Take the trio for $190.00 plus shipping.

I just got the Brazilian Rainbow Boa Available page updated as well.
Speaking of Brazilian rainbow boas, mine have been breeding very well this year:

I currently have around 12 09 babies available. Some are pictured below and others can be seen on my available pages.

Above is a copulating pair of Jungle Carpet Pythons from Andrew Hare Bloodlines. I am VERY excited about this pairing and am hoping to witness additional copulations. Keep your fingers crossed for me on this one. The babies from this pair will be knock-outs.

The photo above is of my 100% het albino Carpet Python male breeding with my tiger jaguar Carpet Python female. Several breedings have now occured and I suspect that this pairing will result in fertile eggs.

This I/J breeding took place a while back and the female has now laid her clutch. One of these snakes is a GQ line and the other is from D. Bell. If this works out it will be the first time I have bred this type of carpet...and about time!(LOL)

Ball Python breeding has been going very well for many months now. The above pair of young albinos are from my genetic banded possible het Jolliff snow lines. I have many gravid females from this bloodline and other gravid hets from my high contrast albino bloodline. 2010 could prove to be my most productive albino ball python year ever.
In closing I want to thank everyone who bought snakes from me in 2009. It was a great year thanks to all of you and 2010 looks like it will be even better. I have tried to clean up my available pages and also want to point out that many available snakes are posted just below this text.

The snakes I offer for sale are flawless in every way and are fed at least one large meal every seven days. I clean my snake cages and provide fresh water at least once a week. I treat every snake I have like one I plan to keep. I treat people who buy snakes from me very well and provide husbandry information via e-mail. I hope you will choose to work with me! Thanks! Will Bird

This pair of Womas have been breeding every five days for weeks now.

Ball Pythons have also begun courtships here. Other breedings that I have witnessed so far this season include Scrubs and Rainbow Boas. As the season proceeds I will update with more breeding photos.

My good friend and colleague Tom Hakansson translated an article I wrote into Swedish and had it printed in this Herpetological Journal.

Tom made sure to give a plug to The Kentucky Herpetological Society and also said many good things about Phil Peak and the book he and I wrote together. This text is in the green box.

The Calico Cow Sucker Project is maturing and doing very well. The female above is ready to breed this season.

And this male is looking good and is ready for his first try.

This nice male will also be put with females this year.
09 Calico babies will soon be posted for sale on my site.

For those following our Kentucky Pine Snake Project, things are going well. The three babies I am housing are eating well and beginning to color up.

The second edition of A Snake Hunting Guide has been released and is now available. Copies are $15.00 each plus $5.00 for shipping and handling. I can ship up to five copies in one envelope for a single $5.00 shipping fee. The second edition has 30 new pages of text and around 30 new photos. There is a new Mud Snake Account, 11 additional species of snakes are discussed, additional charts, and new anecdotes.
I can accept PayPal and Money Orders, so e-mail me if you have an interest in the book. will@ectotherms.net

Above Is A Freshly Hatched Kentucky Northern Pine Snake. This Is The Only Pairing Of Kentucky Locale Pine Snakes To Produce A Clutch This Year And Is The Second Time This Has Ever Happened. When We Hatched The First Clutch To Ever Be Produced We Thought It Was A Good Day, But Having This Clutch Founded By The First Live Cave Region Specimen Observed In 40 Years Has Phil Peak And I More Excited Than Ever. Our Goal To Establish This Vanishing Population Of Endangered Snakes In Captivity Is One Step Closer To Completion. Thanks To All Who Support Our Conservation Efforts!

We have been putting together the next generation of Jungle Carpet Python Breeders over the past few years. Many of these snakes are going to be paired up in 2010. I wanted to update all of you on their progress. Above is a male from Andrew Hare and below is a female from Jason Baylin.

I secured this male from Jake Milbrant and will pair him with the Hare female below as well as others not pictured.
Check back for updates. Inquire with questions. And look below for past updates. Thanks! Will Bird

This Hypo Copper Was Also A Welcome Sight:

Citrus Tiger Carpets Have Hatched. Photos Of The Parents Below.

The Albino Possible Het Snow Florida Kings Bred On 6 April 09 And A Nice Clutch hatched and babies are now available.

My sexed pair of Pure Jungle Zebra Carpet Pythons is doing GREAT! The male pictured on the right has been taking five and six mice every week and would probably take more. He is the type of snake that eats multiple meals even when he is about to shed. I have that good feeling that comes with working a champion snake with this male Zebra and suspect he will be breeding this time next year! I have been raising several stellar female Jungle Carpets for this guy to procreate with.

My 100% Het Albino Carpet Pythons are also eating six to nine prey items at a sitting. My Het Albinos are Darwin/Coastal Crosses. The male pictured on the right has been breeding.
As many of you may know, Kentucky has been hit with natural disasters recently. I was able to make a video during our last Ice Storm that is educational in nature and shows how I was able to save my snake collection when power was lost and temperatures were often below zero at night. A link to this video is below.

Above is what I am coining to be an "Alphabet Jaguar Sibling." Note the "A" and "O" shaped lateral markings. I hatched a 1.2 of these in 2008 by pairing a Genetic Striped Jaguar to a Banded Jungle Carpet Python. As you can see, the genetic stripe gene broke through the banded pattern of the jungle dam. While the jaguar gene is pattern reducing and color enhancing, it has proven difficult to break up the banded trait. This is the Carpet Pythons answer to a dinkin' project.
Finally, I offer a big shout out to my BRB brothers and sisters!! As all can see, I have incorporated a Rainbow Boa in my new banner. Those who have bought snakes from me recently have also seen a Brazilian Rainbow Boa on my new business cards and magnets. All you BRB people need to know that I have been holding back and raising stand-out specimens from my bloodlines for several years now. Two new females may produce next season. As for this season, I have 71 babies born.
Below is a female Brazilian Rainbow Boa holdback from 2007 that is doing very well!

Below is a young timber rattlesnake.

In closing I want to thank everyone for visiting my site. I have made it through several natural disasters and all my animals are fine. It has taken me some effort with the help of a very good friend to get this new site up and running. I have many snakes that will be made available as soon as I can get them photographed and uploaded. Please check back often for animals that become available.
Thanks!! Will Bird K.E.
